Short Profile of the Person:
Ali Bin Towaih was appointed on 10 April, 2005 as Director of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Division (SEED) at TECOM Investments, a member of Dubai Holding. His results-oriented performance saw him take over an additional mandate in 2007 as the Executive Director of ENPARK, a fully comprehensive eco-friendly community for commercial and residential use.
In July 2008, bin Towaih was unanimously elected as the Honorary Chairman of Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC).
Bin Towaih is currently working on several renewable energy projects for TECOM Investments, leveraging his extensive experience in the energy field and his vision for a sustainable and environment friendly development.
His responsibilities include bringing renewable energies to Dubai, while identifying technologies and partners to develop them. Pioneered by him, the recently launched TECOM Investments’ Sustainable Development Policy aims to optimize energy management and green building certification in Dubai.
As part of its multi-pronged objectives, ENPARK also aims to develop an iconic real estate project featuring cutting edge technologies and design in green building. The development will offer the necessary infrastructure and location for companies keen to invest and capitalize on new technologies related to the energy and environment sector.
Continually placed in leadership positions, Ali bin Towaih has consistently handled challenging projects.
As Marketing Manager and Operations Interface Manager at Dolphin Energy Limited from 2002 – 2005, he pioneered aggressive strategies that helped the company achieve some its most ambitious objectives.
From 1993 to 2002, Ali bin Towaih was Terminal Superintendent at Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (EMARAT), where he supervised all terminal manpower and managed the petroleum terminal operations, including the first and only LPG project operations and terminals distribution for the company.
Equipped with extensive experience and background in safety and management across the oil and gas industry, Ali Bin Towaih possesses a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, US.
