Short Profile of the Person :
Jim has been involved in waste management since 1974 where he managed the Domestic SWM contract for Brisbane City Council. After 13 years there, his experience has covered working for several private sector waste operators, various consultancy companies, waste management equipment developers and as a self employed environmental consultant. These works have been in more than 10 countries around the world.
Jim’s current role is the Senior Resident Engineer for SMEC in its Project Management role for the Qatar Government Contract where four new transfer stations and an Integrated Domestic Solid Waste Management Centre are being constructed by a Contractor under a Design, Build, Transfer and Operate Contract. This project has a construction value of just under QR 2Bn and should be operational by mid 2010.
