Mufid A. Samarai, a Senior Advisor at Sharjah Research Academy and Professor of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering at the University of Sharjah. United Arab Emirates.
He obtained his MSC. from Kansas State University USA and Ph.D. from University College London in 1976, and has been engaged in teaching, research and consulting work.
He was Dean of College of Engineering at Applied Science University in Jordan. Professor at College of Engineering Baghdad University since 1963 , Director of National Center for Construction and Research Center NCCL and Deputy Minister of Housing in Iraq.
He was involved in the repair of over 100 structures and bridges in Iraq, Jordan and UAE.
A former vice-president of CIB (Holland) and Bureau member of RILEM (France). Board Member of OMAINTEC and Member in the Advisory Committees of many Establishments such as MEDMA, SASO, Dubai Municipality and Athar Conservation Centre.
His research interests include quality control, low cost housing, non-destructive testing, durability, energy conservation, damage assessment and repair of structures.
He has over 185 publications an author of a book and co-author of a second book.
He has 4 registered patents in Iraq, Portugal and France. |
