Profile: 

Pedro Alonso, Housing and Concrete Building Project Manager for the Mediterranean Region, as a Civil Engineer with 20 years of experience in the cement and ready mix industry, he has held different positions within CEMEX including head of Ready Mix Operations in the United Arab Emirates and Costa Rica and, since 2012, based in Dubai, he is coordinating the Housing and Concrete Building efforts in the Mediterranean region.

During his career, he was involved in the development of the concrete paving market in Mexico where CEMEX has a significant presence not only as a building materials supplier but as a main contractor and operator. During his time in Costa Rica he participated in the renovation program of the streets in San Jose´s downtown and introduced the concrete house concept to the country for the affordable and low income segments. His current responsibilities include the development of affordable and sustainable housing projects in the region and he leads a global initiative that aims to increase the cement consumption in the industrial and commercial segments.
