John is an Associate at Arup and a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Fire Engineering and is currently based in Arup’s Dubai Office. John has gained a wide range of experience in fire engineering in Ireland, UK, Continental Europe, Russia, Africa and Middle East.
He specialises in fire safety design, on-site implementation and handover of transportation, residential, commercial, industrial and assembly buildings.
John lectures part time at Trinity College Dublin on the fundamentals of fire safety science and fire dynamics. A regular speaker on fire engineering at conferences and seminars he has applied his engineering knowledge of fire safety to a diverse portfolio ranging from heritage protected structures to large and complex projects.
All his work is presented to clients and authorities for approval and includes business protection policies, negotiations with local authorities, insurers, and other stakeholders.
