Basem Al Shihabi was instrumental in the establishment and management of Omrania and has over the years made a major contribution to its development from a small architectural practice into one of the leading multi-disciplinary consulting firms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As Managing Partner, he is responsible for many aspects of management, design direction and the general running of the firm. He also takes responsibility for leading teams for particular projects while participating as design architect in others. He is further involved in the construction management activities of the firm.
A significant milestone in his career was his acceptance in 1998, both in his own right and on behalf of Omrania, of the Aga Khan Award for the Tuwaiq Palace Project in Riyadh which he received in Seville from the hands of HM the King of Spain.
