The Middle East Conference on Sustainable Building Materials focusses on environmentally compatible building materials, components, systems and technologies. The presentations are dealing with Standardization, harmonization of specifications and construction efficiency with the goal to create ecological and sustainable buildings throughout the Middle East. Topics cover the most recent developments in building technology:
- Integration of regional construction technology into a global framework
- Comparison and evolution of standards and testing methods
- Inclusion of drymix mortar topics in academic curricula throughout the Middle East (College, University and Techn. Education; CPD)
- Environmental impact and benefits of sustainable construction
- Innovative technologies and products
For the purpose of The Middle East Conference on Sustainable Building Materials, all prodcuts that contribute highly to the environmental
compatibility of a building are being called "Sustainable Building Materials": the term is being defined as all architectural and non-structural materials that
go into commercial, touristic and residential real estate:
- Building blocks
- Wall and ceiling panels
- Mortars such as Floor Screeds, wall renders and plasters, tile adhesives and specialty mortars
- Drymix mortars in preservation and conservation of historic buildings
- External Insulation and Finishing Systems
- Iinsulation materials
- Paints and varnishes
- Sustainable building technology
- Additives and modifiers for sustainable building products
- Environmentally compatible production technology

CO2- neutral conference in cooperation with Ecoventures
Proven contributors to climate change are the emissions of greenhouse gases, one of them being carbon dioxide, CO2. In our everyday life it is unavoidable to cause CO2 emission and to leave a so called CO2 footprint. E.g. Traveling by car from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in a regular car produces 33kg CO2. A roundtrip flight (economy) from London to Dubai will produce 2.45t of CO2 emission. One year use of a fridge can cause a CO2 emission of around 100kg CO2/year.
It is possible to compensate unavoidable CO2 emissions by investing into and thus supporting projects that lead to a direct greenhouse gas reduction, support climate protection and sustainable development. The organizer undertakes to offset the calculated amount of CO2 emission caused by the event in cooperation with our partner Ecoventures. Offset projects have to fulfill strict regulations. For more information please visit www.Ecoventures.ae
It is our aim to lead with a good example and to leave a green footprint.
